Providence St. Vincent iMRI

< Back to Portfolio

A 2,250 SF remodel involving the accommodation and install of the first Intraoperative MRI in the Pacific Northwest.

This project required intricate structural elements to accommodate the suspension of a 15,000 lb. iMRI, as well as two monitor booms, an equipment boom and an anesthesia boom. All structural elements were wrapped in copper shield. The project involved permitting, shotcrete reinforcement to walls, structural steel column and beams for hanging the magnet, structural support of four booms, coordination of electrical & mechanical contractors, and coordination of the moment arm testing, med-gas certifications and special inspections. All work was performed directly adjacent to a fully operating surgery wing.
