Housing the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the NOAA Marine Operations Center - Pacific is located on a five-acre site along the South bank of Yaquina Bay in the South Beach areas of Newport. The upland facility includes a LEED Silver environmentally sustainable office building and warehouse. The in-water work features a 1,300-foot long wharf connected to the land by two, 260-foot long trestles. The wharf provides berths for four NOAA ships: the McArthur IIII, Miller Freeman, Rainer and Bell M Shimada. The wharf  also supports two visiting vessels for a total of 6 berths.
