University of Washington Samuel E Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center

This 3-story + basement, 29,900 SF ethnic cultural center replaces the existing facility and is home to 70 student groups.

Built for the Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity, the center provides a learning environment where students and student organizations collaborate, develop, and implement programs while building leadership and organizational skills. Features include a large multi-purpose room that can hold 250 people, additional meetings spaces, student organization offices, a dance studio, lounge, outside community deck, student project workroom and a kitchen.

The building’s interior 3-story atrium is open to two floors. Building construction consists of concrete floors, steel and wood stud construction interior and exterior walls with exterior rain screen cladding system.
