This current project includes the demolition of nearly 30,000 SF of existing library space including a garage and administration and collection storage building called ISOM.
The Carnegie Library was originally built in 1912 and was in service until the 60’s when it moved to multiple other locations, until the Albina library returned home in August 2021. Construction will include a comprehensive seismic upgrade to the existing Carnegie library and the addition of 30,000 SF of new library space including administration, collections and community functions. The new construction will be a mass timber building. The project includes around 40,000 total SF of new and renovated space.
