A new 7-story, 615,000 SF hospital will be built on the east side of the Sunnyside Campus, along with a new central utility plant. The design is a template based on the Kaiser Permanente San Diego Medical Center. It will include 308 patient beds, an emergency department, imaging, a surgery center, a family birthing center, and a central utility plant. Several existing campus buildings will be demolished at different stages of the project.
