Andersen is currently renovating the 97,000 SF, 1977-built Communications Building, which is home to Media Arts and Performing Arts.
The renovation will enhance program space, upgrade the utility & technology infrastructure of the building, increase energy efficiency and improve building identity and wayfinding. As a result, the building’s dance studio will double, accommodating 50 dance students, a new choir room with enhanced acoustics will also serve as a multi-purpose room and piano practice rooms increase in size, with more flexible spaces. Redundant corridors will be converted to allow larger spaces for 2D, 3D and animation programs. Film editing and screening areas will be reconfigured to allow larger room for seating. A 24-seat Audio Classroom will also be included.
