A 109,000-square-foot replacement facility delivering expanded amenities and modern access in the heart of downtown Boise.
Delivered through a joint venture with McAlvain Construction, the new downtown Boise YMCA is a transformative community facility designed to significantly expand access, wellness, and recreation in the urban core. The 109,000 SF building is under construction and is replacing the existing 72,000-square-foot YMCA facility originally built in 1968.
The facility features a welcoming lobby, multiple exercise and fitness studios, strength and cardio areas, an elevated walking track, a full basketball gym, pickleball courts, and a comprehensive aquatic center with lap and activity pools. Men’s, women’s, and universal locker rooms support inclusive access for all users.
Additional amenities include a wellness clinic, child care center, indoor playground, community gathering rooms, a teaching kitchen, classrooms, administrative offices, and tenant improvement spaces for St. Luke’s and CapEd. The project vision prioritizes accessibility and expanded programming, including a teen-focused hangout space and a Blue Cross of Idaho THRIVE Center designed to support neurodiverse adults and children.
