Tualatin, OR The 140 acre, multi-phased, master plan project included 55 acres of wetlands and the involvement of 13 different state and federal agencies regulating everything from ground water and stormwater management to environmental protection. This project defined much of what goes into the process of building in and around difficult site constraints. As both the developer and contractor for Hedges Green, we gained first-hand knowledge of this process. As an example of an innovative solution to a problem, the site was so flat it needed a bioswale to control stormwater. Working through the issues with both the city and state, the Andersen Team negotiated a deal whereby we treated water offsite, avoided having to build the bio-swale and saved 5 acres of developable land. |
