Site fencing and job trailers were placed today at Shriners Children’s Hospital in Portland, OR, marking the official start of a major expansion and renovation to the hospital. A 3-story, 73,000 SF addition will be built above the existing parking garage and ties into each floor of the existing hospital. A 62,000 SF renovation will take place throughout the existing hospital.

Andersen began another new project in Vancouver, WA today with the Mill Plain Office Building. The 5-story, 60,000 SF steel framed Class A office building also includes 200 structured parking spaces.

Complete interior buildouts began today for floors 4-6 of the Southwest Washington Medical Center Firstenburg Tower in Vancouver, WA. Andersen built the tower in a joint venture with Hoffman Construction and the JV continues for this 78,000 SF Type I Occupancy buildout that will complete the tower.

Today Andersen moved on-site to complete The Brix Condominiums in Seattle, WA. Located in Seattle’s Capitol Hill District, the 6-story mixed-use project will include 130 condominiums.

Andersen completed two expansion/renovation projects today in Nampa, ID. At Mercy Medical Center we completed a 10,100 square foot emergency department expansion & renovation. We also completed a 25,000 square foot expansion & renovation for the State of Idaho’s Mental Health Facility.

Sitework began today for the two-story, 28,000 square foot Providence Happy Valley Medical Plaza. The medical office building will house a physical therapy suite, blood lab, family practice, pediatric clinic and offices.

Today Andersen completed work for the Hewlett-Packard Corvallis Building 2 Seismic Upgrade. The 200,000 square foot renovation is the sixth major seismic upgrade Andersen has completed at the campus.

Andersen took home multiple awards at the 2008 DJC Top Projects Award Ceremony in Portland, OR. Highlighting Andersen’s list of awards was the “Private Buildings: $50.1 million – $100 million” category, where Andersen earned 1st place for The Wyatt Apartment Tower and 2nd place for The Metropolitan Condominium Tower.

Construction buildout began today for the 13th and 14th floors of the OHSU Peter O. Kohler Pavilion in Portland, OR. Both hospital floors will include patient rooms and support spaces.

Andersen capped off a great year by completing The Wyatt Apartment Tower in Portland’s Pearl District. The 15-story, 456,780 SF mixed-use project is the largest multi-family housing structure in the Pearl District.

Today marked the official start of the Good Samaritan West Tower Expansion project, located in Corvallis, OR. The 6-story, 60,000 square foot hospital expansion includes surgery and critical care space, along with 19,000 square feet of renovation to the existing hospital.

Today Andersen broke ground on the 3-story, 82,000 SF Providence Tanasbourne Medical Center. The steel framed medical office building is located in Hillsboro, OR and features an ambulatory surgery center.

Today Andersen completed the Riverfront Renaissance Condominiums in Corvallis, OR. The 7-story structure is the first major construction project in the US to use hybrid poplar for solid wood interior product use.

Andersen broke ground today in Tualatin, OR on the 80,000 square foot Providence Bridgeport Health Center. The 3-story structural steel medical office building is located next to Bridgeport Village.

Work was substantially completed today for the Meadow Lake Village Retirement Resort in Meridian, ID. One of the largest projects in the Boise area over the last few years, this high end resort includes a 3-story residential wing, a 2-story grand lodge, a 2-story assisted living facility and extensive site work.

Today Andersen broke ground on the Birtcher Office Building (to be formally named later) in Tualatin, OR. The 4-story, 100,000 square foot Class-A office building will be built with structural steel and brick clad with strorefront windows and curtain wall.

Andersen placed 10 projects on DJC Commerce Magazine’s “Top Projects 2007 list,” which was more than any other contractor. Andersen also placed more projects on the list’s top 25 than any other contractor, with a total of four.

Work concludes this week for the OHSU Radiation Oncology Center, located in the Peter O. Kohler Pavilion. The 23,000 square foot buildout features two state-of-the-art Linear Accelerator Vaults, one High Dose Vault and a CT Simulation Room.

Today Andersen completed a new parking garage for Providence Medford Medical Center. The 4-story, 207,027 square foot structural steel project adds 608 parking spaces to the hospital. The project was completed in a joint venture with S&B James Construction.

Sitework begins today for Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital’s expansion/renovation project in Hood River, OR. Andersen will expand the hospital’s surgery, birthing and imaging departments and renovate 38,000 square feet of the existing hospital. A new central utility plant is also included.

Andersen began site work this week for a 2-block mixed-use project located in the heart of Portland’s Pearl District. The Lovejoy Blocks include a 9-story mixed-use tower featuring a Safeway Grocery Store, parking and class A office space. Block 2 includes a 16-story market-rate apartment tower.
