Andersen Celebrates First Year in Seattle

Just one year ago, Joel Andersen and Brandon Lawrence set out to face the competitive Seattle market with the hope of expanding Andersen Construction’s reach in the Pacific Northwest. Although two projects were already underway in the area, the Overlake Medical Office Building (MOB) and Parking Garage and Brix Condominiums, Andersen had to face the challenge of being the “new guy in town.” Luckily, with Joel at the helm it didn’t take long for the new office to set sail. Andersen quickly acquired the high-profile Seattle Municipal Tower Façade Access Equipment Replacement (SMT FAER) and the Peace Health Behavioral Health Renovation in Bellingham. By the time the year ended the regional office had evolved to a full-time staff of 29 people. Read More »

Andersen Construction Wins Kaiser Westside Medical Center

Andersen is serving as the General Contractor for all work on this LEED Gold, near-greenfield hospital project. The new Hillsboro campus is highlighted by a 289,762 SF, 128 Bed 2nd Generation Kaiser Template Hospital, which includes a Diagnostics and Treatment building and a 4 story Kaiser Template Nursing Towers. The 4-story, combined Hospital and Nursing Tower structure is steel-framed and links to an adjacent 110,000 SF Hospital Support Building. The 5-story structural steel framed HSB invites patients to a grand entry rotunda and patient drop off area, also adjacent to a new 8-story parking structure. Read More »
